Default Toronto Van Attack

Sad to hear the news that 9 are dead in a Toronto van attack earlier today. The driver just mowed them down. Not sure the motive but the police have him in custody.

Given the M.O., I think we'd all be surprised if the motive isn't the same as previous attacks using vehicles. We'll see.

In other news the Waffle House shooting suspect is now in custody as well.

It's all deeply troubling to me.

Unhappy

I was on the subway today (different area) and heard a report that a section was closed due to a police incident near the Finch Subway station at the time of the attack. Did not even realize the nature of the incident until watching the news this evening. It was a beautiful day today, finally getting some warm weather to clear away a cold spring season.

In retrospect, something didn't sound right/normal about the message at the time. Like most people, you don't expect something like this to happen in your city. My thoughts go out to the victims and family of those killed and injured. Sad day for our city, with another incident that defies explanation as to why this would seem like a solution to anybodies issues

+1.

Looks like the driver doesn't have any ties to any organization. Not sure what the motive was though.

Kudos for that arresting officer. Not firing a shot. Astounding,

Went off the deep end because he was "involuntarily celibate".

Words fail me.

I’m definitely taken aback. Nothing they can do to this guy is bad enough.

I live a mile from there. I grew up in that hood.

One professor who works at our college is in ICU now. I have spoken with him in the past, an incredibly kind man, Amir. He is a union steward for my unit.

The evil monster that did this was frustrated that women did not want to sleep with him. He is an InCel, a group of over 40K men who are in internet forums discussing how women are evil for not loving them.

Over 40,000 members of these forums exist.

Its now clear that he was targetting women in this ....aiming for anything female and accelerating.T
