Not much of a collector but I am an accumulator. Actually my fantasy is to screw up whatever it takes to part with a few more. The problem is, unlike the guitars in the OPs fine collection, many of mine are not easy to find. So if I make a mistake in what I let go of it will be a hard row to hoe to remedy.

After many years I've finally discovered that the playing issues can no longer be blamed on instruments and now come down to me.

Heck no, but actually, pretty close.
My dream guitar is a genuine Gibson Banner J-45 from 1942-1945. Will happen someday, just not now. scott memmer |

I'm happy. Now if I could just get the humidity right in my house I could really enjoy them.

Done. A Collings DS2H since 97, which is probably all I ever needed. Also a Martin 00-28 VS, Two Martin Authentics and a custom 000-28 12 fret by Gary Cotten. I mostly gig with that and the Collings. The Authentics an OM-18 A and a D-28 1931 A, are guilty pleasures. The 00-28VS is on long term loan to a dear friend. I have enough. I turn 67 in four weeks and have played for a living for 30 years. Covid has all but ended it. Fine guitars can be the cheapest in the end but only if you sell them when the time comes. I'm not good at letting go.

Just to say that whilst there are many folks that have less numbers than I do, but I'm somewhat relieved to see others whose collections are .... crazier than mine!

No.
Tonewood-wise I'd love to add a BRW and a Maple b/s to the guitarsenal. Brand-wise I'd like to add a Bourgeois and maybe a Froggy Bottom, assuming I can find superlative examples that speak to me. If I'm lucky I can kill multiple birds with two stones, like a BRW Bourgeois and a Maple Froggy. But to be clear, I don't shop by specs, the guitar has to speak to me. I'll have to do road trips to try and find these samples. At some point (maybe 2022-23) I do plan on going to NH to visit Northern Lights Music, who seem to be one of the largest sellers of Bourgeois and have quite a few in stock at any given time.

Man...that's a whole lotta Martin Goodness! Beautiful...every one! I'm pretty close...I traded a Collings D1 Custom Shop last year and I'm kinda jonesing for a D1AT now. We'll see if anything comes of it. I'd sure like to move before the price increase in a little over a week?

I’m not done but have been asked to redirect my guitar money into a kitchen remodel. I will resume my quest for a D-41 after that.

No, my guitar collection fantasies are pretty fantastical, so I’ll never fulfill them. For example, I seriously doubt I’ll ever own one of these:

My favorite guitar is the next one I'm going to buy.
That said, I'm really happy with my current stash to the point that I feel all are keepers. |
