Count me in. I own a WL-12 and a Jumbo King. Love both instruments. I wish Waterloo had made the Jumbo King in a 12-fret connection model. I saw a pic with a prototype of this instrument

Here's mine, an early WL-14 XTR (#35) bought new when they were first released. I strongly suspect it won't be my last Waterloo.
A buddy of mine says it sounds more like a vintage Gibson than my '33 L-1 does :-)

Reminds me of that story about Ralph Stanley saying that Keith Whitley sounded more like Carter than Carter did! [emoji38]

Default Waterloo Owners Club!

I can’t seem to work out how to add photos, but will chime in to say I’m a fan! I’ve got 3 waterloos, a WL-14 ltr, a WLS-Deluxe and a WL12mh

They’re incredible, the 14 is probably the one I play most, very articulate, woody and resonant. Lots of personality and does way more than blues/ragtime.

Has anyone done this upgrade?

Here’s the link:

I was looking into this recently and opted out on the Waverlies for two reasons (1) they only appear to come in gold and (2) are in extremely low stock at StewMac. I can’t comment on their fit although I am sure they would work with little adjustment.

So I went with a different set of GA tuners for my WL-S, item #2508 on StewMacs website. They actually function a little better than the stock ones (maybe because they are 5+ years old) and look a little nicer.

I’m also in the process of replacing the buttons on them with the Antique Acoustics Vintage Tuner Buttons from Eldery to match a set of Antique Acoustics pins I got from Elderly as well. All in all they should match the cream binding dead on… we’ll see.

Not a Waterloo, but related. The Waterloo website credits the Regal jumbos made for Montgomery Ward as the inspiration for the JK model. I was visiting TR Crandall yesterday, and Tom and Scott mentioned that this exact Regal-made Recording King was the guitar that Bill Collings played that inspired the JK model. Thought I would share:

Bill Collings may have picked the clunky tuners to give you the full vintage guitar blues face experience!

Swap them out to Waverlies and the old pickup truck may become a...Mercedes....?

Here's my WL-14xtr. I had played a couple Waterloos in shops, a WL-K, WL-12, but never a 14. A guy on Reverb was selling this one , it was new but used in a photo shoot and I got it at a great price. It suits my style so well, has become my main player at this point. Id still like to play and consider a WL-K again, and also experience a WL-S, but for time being, so happy I joined the club!
