Default McAlister 000-28 12 Fret Cutaway, Brazilian/Adirondack, ***SOLD***

7 Roy McAlister Vintage Series 000-28 12 Fret Cutaway - Brazilian Rosewood/Adirondack - Excellent +++

Hear of Crosby, Stills & Nash or Jackson Browne?
David Crosby, Graham Nash and Jackson Browne play and love their Roy McAlister guitars.

For Sale:
-Roy McAlister Vintage Series 000-28 12 Fret - Slotted Headstock
-Built in 2008
-Ameritage-Silver hard shell case (Original case.....near mint condition)

-PRICE $SOLD$

Condition: Carefully maintained and handled, always cased and humidified. Near mint condition. Best described as 9/10 condition with only issue being some very light scratches where pick guard would be. Hard to see unless you tilt the guitar to see in light. Case is in 9.9/10 condition

This instrument is made from superb old growth Brazilian rosewood with a gorgeous, aged Vintage Series Adirondack top, slotted headstock, pyramid bridge and was built by one of the top custom builders. With the 1 13/16" width at the nut, 2.25" width at saddle, cutaway with 12 frets to the neck, this guitar is really fun to play. It is set up perfectly with low action and great feel. The neck is a modern C shape. Put all this with the slightly more shallow depth of a 000 and you have a homerun!

The McAlister tone is vintage sounding with a notable and likable chime to it. This is really a cool guitar. I've owned it twice, because I HAD to have it back.

-Replacement cost for this guitar in the $15k range.
-Not looking for trades unless you have a Martin MC-37K or Martin MC-68 with oval sound hole.

Smile Wow

Hey Bruce. I thought you would keep this one! What a beauty!!! Looks like McAlister has out-Martined Martin.

Perhaps your oval soundhole quest has temporarily unhinged you???

Someone should buy this before Bruce comes to his senses! Hahahahaha

Salud

Paul

Default Unhinged?

Hey Paul,

Yes, possibly unhinged for selling the terrific McAlister 000-28 but I've doubly reinforced your "unhinged" characterization with a buying frenzy in the last 6-8 weeks with the Martin oval quest in which I've acquired 8 of the ten and have an offer submitted on #9 oval. Add a Ryan MGC and three archtops and you can see the "unhinged" only applies to the buy side of the equation and is justified on the McAlister listing!

I finally got down to a manageable number, then upped it by a freakin' dozen. Time to sell a couple.

Unhinged In SD and ID...lol

Such a beauty! This thing tempted me for quite awhile when it made its previous appearance here. Just a lovely looking guitar...sigh...

This McAlister's tone is sublime - I've heard Bruce play it, and it truly sounds like an angel chorus. Great looker to boot, and Bruce is a fabulous seller - buy a guitar, gain a friend.

Great opportunity to acquire an amazing instrument!

Default McAlister...$1000 less on AGF than on Reverb!

Thanks for the kind words "Carmel Cedar" and yes, this one is one of those special ones!

Note HUGE discount to AGF members!

This is a steal for an incredibly great sounding guitar that can be used for finger style AND strummed hard.

Default McAlister 000-28, 12 fret, cutaway, BRW/Adi, String spacing 2 5/16", PRICE SLASHED!

Make me a reasonable offer. I've acquired 14 guitars in last couple months and just need to make some room. This has been and will remain a fabulous guitar!

Make me a reasonable offer and own a lifetimer!

Nice Brazilian. That quality of straight-grain Brazilian seems to be unavailable these days, even in top end guitars. If it were 1-3/4 it would soon be mine.

Default Exact dimensions at nut plus string spacing at nut and saddle

Hi Madison,

Here are the exact dimension for you and others since it seems you favor less real estate:

Width of fingerboard @ nut: 1.833", 1 13.4/16", 46.55mm
Width outside E to outside E @ nut: 1.6295", 1 10.13/16", 41.38mm
String spacing outside E to outside E at saddle: 2 1/4", 2.25", 57mm

Thanks for the kind words. It is a beauty in every way.

Beautiful instrument....

The top specs say, string spacing: 2 5/16 (closer to 11/32)

But then this post says String spacing ... 2 1/4.

which is the correct spacing on this fine looking McAlister?

Default Great axe

I had one just like this. It was supposed to go to Jackson Browne.
It was superb.

I haven’t played or heard this particular guitar, but speaking as a longtime satisfied McAlister guitar owner, I can attest to the extremely high quality of McAlister guitars in general.
