Some great stuff guys, thanks for all the contributions. This guy sings in a Canadian band called The Flatliners thats done everything from hardcore to ska over the years, amazing how pretty-pop-perfect he can clean up his voice for the unplugged stuff, which is typically great.

This is an early Paul Simon song with a fair amount of 12-string energy, which I recently covered in the Show & Tell section HERE:

Rise Against do quite a bit of unplugged stuff, most of which has never done anything for me, this one is pretty darn good though.

The energy on this performance is off the charts! While not known as an acoustic group, BNL seemed to have the mentality that if electric instruments werent adding anything then they didnt use them. This performance was acoustic right down to the congas and stand up bass, with an absolutely killer groove between the bass and percussion at the end.

I gotta say... a huge amount of the best stuff I'm finding is from Canadian bands, perhaps we just like our acoustic rock a little louder than everyone else? Besides the afforementioned BNL and Jeff Martin heres a few more acoustic tunes from Canuckistan that were pure gold.

The Headstones with a cool bluesy version of what originaly was a punk anthem.

Great Big Sea, a Celtic rock group.

Big Wreck, tearing it up on a 12 string.

And last but not least, the great Canadian classic... the Tragically hip with an absolute masterpiece of a song.

And I gotta do one more canuck tune... Corb Lund's break out song, about digging trucks out of the mud. Dont get much more Albertan than this.

Tommy Girvins acoustic on Eddie Money Unplug It In live recordings. He "takes it away" on a lot of these songs. Two Tickets, Gimme Some Water, etc.

At 1:57 Eddie tells Tommy to "take it away". And boy does he.

Dave Hause. Great live! There's a video somewhere of Dave doing Bad Religion "Sorrow" outside on a deck that's just great.
