Default Breedlove Revival OMR Deluxe - opinions? NGD page 3

Any experiences or opinions welcome:

There's a Breedlove Revival Series OMR Deluxe -08 for sale on a local forum.

Condition is clearly excellent and the seller says he picked it for the sound. Not quite sure what sound he was looking for, though. I cannot find much on youtube, but what I can find sounds promising. I want to fingerpick, flatpick and strum. No need to be particularly loud.

Cosmetics are very nice too and not over the top - except the spruce of the top has a lighter colored band under the strings and behind the bridge.

The seller lives far enough that I'd like to be pretty sure before driving to see it for myself.

The mid-2000s Breedlove Revivals are superb!!! Jayson Bowerman built, Super high quality instruments that, in my opinion, are as good as most of the boutique builders... As long as it is priced well I don’t think you can go wrong!

I found some similar sales online (Reverb?) This one is slightly higher but in the same ballpark. This one might have a little nicer wood grain than those others, though.

I bet this is great. I played a great dr deluxe dread that I wish I could find for sale. I’d buy this in a second and know that it’s gonna sound great.

great guitars. Pre 2009 are the best in my opinion. If the price is good and the condition is good, they are nice. Carter Vintage has one for sale in the mid 1-2k region. That is your price ref.

the pics appear post 2010 after they changed the bracing. Be careful on price.

As with most factory guitars, they can be a hit or miss. I don't know what a previous poster said about "Jason Bowerman built" because I don't know if he actually built them, or just simply designed them. I've played several Revival Series that didn't do anything for me but one that sounded amazing.

I see a 'Breedlove Revival D Deluxe' there, but that one has different woods. Mahogany back and sides, instead of rosewood, and rosewood fingerboard, instead of ebony.

What makes you think it is post 2010?

The rosette is fancy. Pre 2010 or so they were simple like a d-28. Like in this one for sale with Brazilian rosewood from 2008

https://reverb.com/item/29825007-bre...2008-brazilian

or this mahogany one from 2007 or 08

https://reverb.com/item/38480616-bre...om-shop-w-ohsc

Here is an 09 Custom

https://reverb.com/item/24157801-bre...-spruce-walnut

Get a pic of the label with the model description and serial number. Call Breedlove. They are good about responding. The serial number on the COA looks like 2008 or 9 but that rosette I have never seen in that time period. I could be wrong given Breedlove's inconsistent model history

Thanks!
I went and sent Breedlove (Two Old Hippies) an email. The ad has the serial and also a photo through the soundhole.

edit:
googling for information,I found some 2011 and later catalogs. There, Breedlove lists custom options that might fit the picture. Still, waiting for Breedlove response.

ask if it has the bridge truss thing that Breedlove uses at times. If so, it is most likely not a 2008 Revival

I had a 000 twelve feet Breedlove for awhile and it was a fantastic guitar. Nothing bad to say about it. Tone was great. Neck was very comfortable.

Also, Jeff Tweedy of Wilco had a signature Breedlove for a bit before the Martin signature was released. Being that I have mainly seen him play vintage martins or an old kel kroyden, I think speaks to the quality and more so the sound of Breedloves from that period.

Breedlove used these off and on but the early Revivals did not have them
