Merry Christmas, Andy!
I’m not an expert and my hearing is failing. To me, the filed picks sounds best. Cheers, Tom |

Based on the sound samples provided...I liked the softer Alaska pik copies the best. The filed Alaska piks were nice too, with a rounder warm tone.
just curious, did you purchase the Alaska copies or make them yourself? I ask because I use Alaska piks, filed down now and like the copies you featured.

The Alaska copies I got on Amazon, described as Alaska 'type' picks. They are a lighter colour, almost white but other than being made from softer plastic they are the same design. With flat picks you can get them in hundreds of different hardness and thickness permutations and I think it's a shame that more variety is not available with the Alaska pick design as flat picks can produce so many different tones. |
