Great stuff, Steve and Ryan!

And thanks, Steve for bringing a bit of cool respite to us here in N. California!

Yep, can't make a good guitar out of Maple they say...Hmmm, I might just have to disagree with that! Sounded so open and rich. Thanks, and Merry Christmas to you as well.

It strike me as odd that you guys in Northern California get your fair (unfair?) share of Texas weather. Glad to help any way I can, even in the heat of the moment. Thanks Kevin.

That sounds beautiful! Sorry I won’t get to play it, and am sure some lucky attendee will want to take it home.

Default B.I.G.IV Sept 1 thru 3! WIN A $15,000 guitar!

Hello everyone,
Well, BIG is just around the corner once again, and I’m looking forward to seeing you all at the “Greatest Show on Earth”…..Barnum & Bailey has nothing on Tom & Kathy.

This past year has been a wild ride for me personally, but I made sure to set a little time out of my schedule to build a couple of new additions to bring along with me to this year’s iteration of BIG.

They are both my Solis” auditorium model, with Florentine cutaway.
-The first is Alaskan quilted-Sitka Spruce over quilted-American Cherry…and it’s a 25” to 25.75” multi-scale.
-The second is Alaskan Bearclaw Sitka Spruce over flamed-Southeast-Asian Pyinma…and has a 25.5” scale-length.

I probably should bring my wife to remind me that I don’t need another guitar. Well, maybe not!

Only a few days more until a) I can see everyone and b) I can see and play all of these gorgeous guitars and c) I can hear the performances that will be outstanding again. Many thanks to Tom and Kathleen for putting this together another year.

Get her lined up for B.I.G. next year. I had arrangements all made with her agent 2 years ago only to be told 2 days later he was unaware she was booked already.

Joel, you have out done yourself. That top on the second guitar, oh my, dark streaks and bearclaw combine to make it simply stunning.

Beautiful work Joel as usual. Good hunting at BIG. I suspect you will have it.

Both these guitars look wonderful, Joel. I really look forward to seeing you and these beauties later this week!

Safe travels, my friend!

Looking forward to seeing everyone. The guitars and musicians are a fringe benefit.

It would be cool to get a flat picker or nylon player one day. We're obviously more than a little fingerstyle focused and a little variety in the diet might be a good thing.

I'll have to dust off a little jazz theory to attempt playing the archtop.
