A Few Less Knowns
If you haven't listened and you want to check this out. Kenny was from Cincinnati, he has passed now, there's a great solo recording of him at the Heritage club if you like this.
Cal Collins also from Cincinnati, played for about 6-7 years with the Benny Goodman Orchestra...wonderful player and the incredible Rory Hoffman playing an old Hank Williams tune on his new Buscarino guitar, blind in case you didn't notice Last edited by Charlieb; 10-21-2018 at 05:31 AM. |

Wow! Thanks for posting these videos. Can’t believe I don’t know Kenny Poole, his playing is right up there with other jazz chord melody greats. And the way Rory Hoffman plays is amazing.

Glad that you can dig all this. I ran across Kenny bout 10 years ago. You know he never wanted to do much more than play locally around Cincinnati and just a fabulous player. He sounds like 2-3 guitars but it's solo live. He played with thumb over neck to add all those bass lines. I read he would tune down as much as two whole steps. Here's my Kenny playlist doing some incredible solo playing at the Heritage club live, you can tell by the two people that barely clap after the tune...
