Very nicely done, Glenn, and and interesting recording. I enjoyed reading about how you did it. And that Olson just gets better and better.

Thank you Kerbie! I'm glad you had a chance to listen to this!

It's true, that the Olson has its own, very appealing sound, at least for me.

I very much appreciate your comments Kerbie!

Very nice singing, very moving. Your guitar has a beautiful sound. Do you record your voice AND your guitar with just the microphone we see on the video or do you use the guitar mic as well? I really like the quality of it all.

Hi Zelig,

Thank you very much for your comments! I'm very gratified that you liked this.

Regarding the recording process, I use 2 small diaphragm condenser mics, Rode NT5 with omni-directional capsules (making the mics essentially NT55 mics) for the guitar and record in stereo. For voice I use an Audio Technica AT4050 large diaphragm condenser mic.

I was asked a while ago on the AGF to make a tutorial on how I do my videos, and so I did that recently. That tutorial video is HERE in case you are interested.

Thanks again for your generous comments!

Thanks Glennwillow,
I found your tutorial really interesting. I make videos myself and record in stereo as well. I think we are close to a solution for recording the guitar. For the voice I will try it your way. I generally record with the singer very close to the microphone which is complicated to film at the same time.

Hi Zelig,

I'm glad you found the video interesting and hopefully useful. Best of luck on your video and recording efforts.
