Default Rare Bird - Eastman ET15-SS Prototype (Gibson LG-2 shape)

SOLD SOLD SOLD

I haven't been very active here in recent years, as I now have young kids who keep me busy. I've got great feedback on Reverb and TGP. Feel free to ask any questions you have and I'll do my best to answer them.

This is a very rare, very nice Eastman. One of just a handful of prototypes of the limited run E15-SS, which is sort of a clone of a Gibson LG-2.

The guitar plays and sounds wonderful. It is surprisingly loud for its size. It's great for fingerpicking, flatpicking or strumming. The Adirondack Spruce top doesn’t overdrive when pushed. Nice comfy neck profile – C shape, with just enough chunk so that it’s not too thin, not too thick. There is no evidence of bridge lift. The guitar has been played and loved and is in good shape with some wear where you expect it (strumming area around sound hole, minor fret wear in cowboy chord area, headstock wear from restringing).

Asking $1,195 shipped CONUS.

Specs:
  • Top: Solid Adirondack spruce
  • Back and sides: Solid rosewood
  • Bracing: Scalloped X
  • Fretboard: Rosewood
  • Bridge: Rosewood
  • Finish: Nitrocellulose lacquer
  • Nut: Bone
  • Saddle: Compensated bone
  • Scale length: 24 7/8
  • Nut width: A hair over 1 11/16

  • Lower bout: 14"
  • Waist: 9 1/4"
  • Body depth at neck: 3 3/16"

This guitar comes as-is with its original hard shell case.

I've always wanted to pick one of these up but the nut width has always stopped me.
Where are you located?

Hello, Kurt. I'm in IL, USA but I no longer meet in person. After two bad in-person dealings, I resolved to keep purchases and sales to online with shipping.
