Edmonds D-28
Up for sale is a fantastic instrument built by the great Galax, Virginia luthier Jimmy Edmonds. It features a Red Spruce (Adirondack) top with Indian Rosewood back and sides. This was originally built in 2004, his 4th instrument made at the time and used as his personal guitar. In 2019, he decided to bring this guitar up to his current build knowledge and bracing specs. The guitar was retopped with a wonderful red spruce top and a new neck was also installed. So essentially the back and sides are from 2004 and the rest of the guitar is from 2019. You wouldn’t be able to tell the guitar is retopped from looking at it or playing it but wanted to have full disclosure. It features herringbone trim and oval button Waverly tuners and it’s in fantastic shape with no major dings or dents. Excellent condition.
When I purchased this I also owned a Martin D-28 Authentic Aged. I sold the Martin shortly after acquiring this. This was so much more musical sounding to my ears. It features a nut width of 1.74” with a nice c shape. It has 2 5/16” bridge spacing. Comes equipped with a K&K pickup that works great. Comes in a newer SKB thermoplastic case. The sound is deep, rich, and full with tons of sustain. Current setup for my bluegrass playing style of 6.5/64” on low E and 5/64” on high E with plenty of saddle to adjust as necessary. I'm asking $TRADED delivered to your door in a fee-free transaction. Other similar Edmonds listed recently for $3750-5000. PayPal goods and services is ok with buyer paying 3% fee.
