Are you getting more spam emails lately?
Ugh, I must get 3-4 a day now. Congratulations you have been selected...blablabla. I get these fake emails from Apple, CVS, Home Depot. All wanting my personal info. This just started in the past month. Any idea how to block this crap?

Yep, I get them every day. My favorite one has a heading that reads "Important! Someone has attempted to log into your FB account "
I get a chuckle with that one since I do not and have not ever had a Facebook thingie.

At present, I don't get any spam emails and haven't since I set up my current address a couple of years ago. I avoid making online accounts at any retailer to the extent possible, and if I do have to make one to purchase something, I delete it ASAP, as well as unsubscribe from their official email lists. Any time I'm asked if I want a receipt emailed to me, I decline. The most important thing though, I think, is having a secure email provider. Don't know your particular case, but generally, there's no such thing as a free lunch. Or, in this case, the free lunch usually comes with a lot of unwanted extras.

I'm not seeing them. gmail does a pretty good spam job. I just went to
look in my spam folder and found a classic! My name is Mr. Mohamed Musa, I am a staff working with the Bank of Africa here in Ouagadougou,Burkina Faso. -Mike |

Yes, spam is on the rise. I probably delete spam 50 emails a day. Spam text is routine, as well.

Mr Musa is a great guy! He’s going to deposit $478,699.43 in my bank account as soon as I send him my account number and password. I’m so excited.

Me, I am getting dozens of: "You have been refunded $137.83. Please go to the following website."
Yeah, right.

You should be able to create a “message rule” that will allow you to block the senders domain or at least have any individual spam email automatically dumped into your trash folder. I found out how to do it with my client by searching on You Tube. BTW, three or four a day is really pretty low.

Yes, I recently started getting more Spam. Thankfully, Gmail does a good job of filtering. I find it interesting how creative the senders are of using headers of current topics to get you to click. IRS, Stimulus, etc etc.

Not noticing anymore or less e-mails but a definite uptick in phone calls?

No increase in email detected.
I opt out of everything, sign up for nothing, change passwords often. I stay under the radar for the most part. All that said, I have been getting more unrecognized phone calls recently. It’s simple.. if I don’t recognize the phone number, I don’t answer it, or call it back later. |
