Bands or bands? It's really just a reflection of a corrupt and negligent government. Regs don't cover that!

This event will cause repercussions (no pun intended).
Whilst the Lebanon leadership have threatened to "find and punish" those responsible, the people will, understandably blame the government. A desperate and angry people dissatisfied with their government will revolt against the whole political/economic situation. Other countries should take note.

Whilst somewhat smaller than what might happen should the ship ever blow up, we Brits are accustomed to the left overs of WW2 explosives. I was born shortly after the war, but I remember many Ww2 bomb explosions occurring when they were clearing damaged/destroyerd buildings. It was just a part of life. Many were also just buried. A US Liberator bomber crashed on my current city in 1944 with a full bomb load. It destroyed a considerable amout of shops and a laundry but only killed three or four people. However there is an enduring question as to whether all three bombs ignited and the area was quickly covered over unless the Germans saw it as a potential target. There is also a Stuka with its 200lb bomb under the ground on a housing estate. A few people know where but are pledged to secrecy as those living above it might become anxious. I live on reclaimed land which was once an opencast mine, then a lake. During WW2, I'm told, many wrecked fighters and other equipment were simply dumped in the lake. Prior to D-Day the Canadians dumped many trucks full of undetailed equipment that they decided could not be taken to France. That is why areas around where I grow my crops are deemed too toxic to be used, but can have housing built on it. There is an new estate of a thousand houses nearing completion to the south of the city, which is being built on floodlands that were a very significant fuel and ??? dump during WW2 and the cold war. We just live with this stuff. Many bombs were dropped by Germans on non targets, just to got over and get back home, so they occasionally turn up on/in farmland. We also have a great deal of other ships with armaments all around our shores.

My life long pen pal in Cyprus said people in the capital of Nicosia felt the blast. It was that powerful.
Silly Moustache - you are absolutely spot-on about "repercussions". Sad, but true.
