My pet peeve is people wanting to discuss the weather. "Sure is hot today." I know, I'm standing right beside you. Some of my neighbors may have a promising future on the Weather Channel. They are that good. "Sure is hot today." Thanks for the update. I'll check back in ten minutes. "Still hot, Pete." Okay. Appreciate the information.

Reminds me of an old Firesign Theater skit that began with "Big light in sky shines in the east..."

But you'll probably be less than 10% RH (Tucson's at 6% right now), and we're at 42%. The lowest I've ever seen it here is in the upper 20s. The worst place I ever lived for uncomfortable weather was in Virginia. It would be in the upper 80s or low 90s, plus almost 100% humidity. We used to pray for an evening thunderstorm to cool things down. Otherwise the only option was trying to sleep with a fan blowing on you, evaporating the sweat. That was back before AC was more the norm.

At least here it cools down in the evening, when the breeze from the ocean comes along.

Ooooh, I can answer that!

Temperature in the sun varies from round about 10,000 degrees just under the surface to pretty near 27 million degrees right in the center.

Fahrenheit, of course.

Yeah, but it's a dry heat...something heard 'round these parts quite often is, "It's not the heat, it's the humidity"...
