Hi Mark, incredible build I love your work and the cocobolo you chose looks stupendous! I would love to play this one also. BTW I live in northern NJ so the road trip for me won't be too far.

Thanks Rixter! With you being so close, you'd be a great place to start. I'll put you on the contact list for when we get closer

Thanks Again!

Default Singer Songwriter Danielle Doyle

Hello Everyone,

Danielle Doyle was nice enough to put up a few YouTubes of her singing with her Josie model. This guitar is the same Sitka/Cocobolo combination. Thanks Danielle!

This is great Mark! I would also put this link up in show and tell.

Explain a little about the guitar and who is singing.

Good stuff Dude!

Danielle http://danielledoylemusic.com/ is a singer songwriter in the Boston area. She has one cd out which got great reviews and play time on some of the NPR stations. She has been very active playing in smaller venues in Mass, New Hampshire, Conn., and Maine. I have listed her on my website as a featured artist. Beside the fact that I'm a fan I thought it was a good idea to try to support an artist that would play one of my guitars in smaller venues where someone could be up close to see her and the guitar and ask questions.
This guitar is the same model I'm building on this thread and I thought these YouTubes would be a nice preview of the guitar I'm building now
I hope everyone enjoys them!

Default Starting the Frets

Each fret end is rounded and polished by hand so this is a long process;

One down, 41 to go--

Thanks for viewing!

Default Fret Shooting Board

I cut all of the frets to length before they are installed. I've made a jig to help me with that. I cut the 1st and 12th fret to the proper length and use them as guides to cut the rest. This eliminates measuring errors and really keeps them uniform. I finish one end of each fret and set them into the jig;

I then secure them in place and cut them all flush with a file;

There, now only 19 more fret ends to go!

I knew this was going to be a very special guitar from the very first posting in this build thread, and it has shown itself to be even more than I thought. A gorgeous guitar. Really appreciate all of the pictures along the way.

Thanks Billy and Solo!

I lost a little time because I drove up to the Woodstock show. There was some really great work there! I got to talk with Ervin Somogyi, Jason Kostal,
Ray Kraut, Bruce Sexauer, Petros and others. It is very inspirational to see the work of others that you really admire!
I guess I shouldn't say I lost time--it was time well spent!
I'll start fretting the guitar and have more pics up soon.

Thanks Again!

Hey Mark....I posted my impressions of Woodstock in general discussion. Wasn't it a blast! Are you thinking of getting a table next year?

Yes it's absolutely a blast! It's true that the bigger shows can be overwhelming for both the attendees and the builders. This show is a good size in a wonderful enviroment and a more relaxed atmosphere. (Not that I really mind being overwhelmed!)
And yes, I will try to get into next year's show.
