i just need to tell someone what a spluttering idiot i am for this padauk 30. the red glimmers like a gemstone in even the dullest light. the veneer is more beautiful than i could ever have imagined. the glowing fret markers adorning the inky black shining fretboard. the amazing soundhole that so perfectly fits both a tuner and a pick holder. the neck profile, the black nut, the gorgeous painless bridge. iíve never been anywhere near this in love with anything.

Any second now we're going to hear a loud, "I OBJECT!" from the Emerald cup-thieving, law-student wife in the other room...

Sustained.

I submit that anything and anyone reside in separate categories!

My be acquitted as "anything" is not a reference to said wife as "anyone" would have done him in.... Or something like that... either way love is good.... And we all prolly love that you love both.

I get it: there has been some stuff I have owned, each having to do with my passions, that were "the apex." The "thing" you dreamed about. I'm not sure about loving "stuff," but I can say there have been some guitars that I absolutely adored.

Congrats again on the 3 new Emeralds! A loving wife will be excited for you, appreciating your happiness. Yeah, it's perfectly OK to say you love that new X30...

I'm inclined to keep the blue one for some reason. Or maaaaaybe sell it to a buddy here.

I will probably put the X20 up for sale though, since owning three Emeralds is insane. Just dropped it on the sale forum.

That right there is funny!

Perspective... "3 is too many"... "3 isn't enough"... me: 3 is just right.

I see the Sable is also now on the Classifieds. Planning to keep whichever one doesn't sell first? Or, is the X30 the one... or, two, as the case may be?

I'm so enchanted with the 30s that the smaller bodies and tones of the 20 and Sable are getting edged out. If the 20 was smaller enough to mean travel etc were easier I'd keep it, but really the jumbo is only a little bigger.

That said, the 20 could be described as more balanced in tone. More of a "cut through the noise" sound. The 30 is more personal, full/fat/rounded.
