Arrow Sold -- Custom Wes Brandt OM in Brazilian/Sitka

SOLD. Thank you AGF.

I am starting to list most of my guitar collection due to a family health emergency. Family comes first. Also listed on Reverb, but it is a better deal on the Forum.

First up is a very rare Wes Brandt compound cutaway OM in Brazilian and Sitka, made in 1990. Wes is a marvelous instrument maker from Portland, Oregon, and a contemporary of John Greven and Kerry Char...among many others in Portland. Check out his web site at www.Wesbrandtluthier.com.

Key specs:
- 1-11/16" nut, 2-5/16" at the bridge and 2-1/4" at the 12th fret; action is 3/32" at treble and bass
- 25.4" scale
- Fast (not Taylor) C- neck
- 14 fret with compound cutaway
- Aged Brazilian rosewood B/S and Sitka top (about 50 years old + 27 years since built)
- Fossilized Mammoth rosette and inlay markers
- HSC
- Note: the top has some indents (not through the finish) from 27 years of playing.

Priced at $XXxX.

No video on this one. I always give 72 hour return privilege on all guitars.

Thanks for looking.

Default brandt guitar

An amazing guitar!

What's the scale length and fretboard width at the nut and the 12th fret.

Any comments on the action would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Tk

Default Specs updated in listing

Updated the specs in the listing to add scale and 12th fret measurements.

That's the first guitar I have ever found with 1-11/16" nut, 2-5/16" at the bridge. Beautiful.

Thumbs up Bump for a great custom Wes Brandt OM

Forget to add earlier, action is 3/32" at high and low E strings. Now corrected in the listing.

From the snowy Pacific Northwest.

Wink OK, where do I start?

The almost straight-grained BRW, that amazing headstock, then let me tell you more...

I won't again buy a cutaway guitar where the builder hasn't taken the time to match the neck to to body. Yeah, just mount the neck and have that weird misalignment. I'm talking $8K, even $12K guitars. It's Ok on a Taylor. So this guitar, Wes did not only meet the neck to the body, he did it on an amazing angle! What a work of art with superior craftsmanship.

Wow, just wow to all of the above.

It doesn't read like you would want a trade. I have 3 or more guitars listed just today FS or trade. If one is to sell, you will hear from me. Amazing! Thank you for sharing. JD

I agree on all counts! If this one had a 1 3/4" nut, it would already be in my living room! This is a fantastic deal! And there's no one easier to deal with than Bob!

I have played Wes' OM's before and they are great. He's a wonderful builder here in Portland.

Arrow Still available -- a great OM (trades possible)

Thanks for the nice comments, folks. While I would prefer a sale, a trade for an OM or smaller guitar might be considered.

We are all blessed with wonderful guitars and too little cash!

Happy Sunday!

Bob
