Default Yet another rag - Russian Rag (based on Rachmaninoff's Prelude)

Hi guys,

Here's my latest recording. George L. Cobb's Russian Rag on a Martin 000-18MC. It is loosely based on Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C-sharp minor, Op.3, No.2. From an arrangement by Lasse Johansson.

I hope you enjoy it.

Wow, Doug, intricate indeed! Nice job.....it does indeed somehow have a very "Russian" feel to it, so to speak. The individual notes are very interesting....would those be called "Chromatic runs" of sorts? I'll bet a bunch of work went into getting this down. Well done!

Thanks guys! It is intricate but quite fun to play. One of the reasons I like it is that it is very different from the rest of my repertoire.

Yes the piece has a lot of chromaticism in it. I think that's why I find it so neat.

Very nice. My peops are from Russia, and I think they'd love your performance....

Something about ragtime going on at the moment. I'm just smiling. That's a very interesting tune my friend. And played very well.

To your good health! 🍺🍺

That’s a good one, Doug. It’s amazing how varied ragtime can be. You’ve got a real nice feel for it
