I'm losing track of how many times while perusing Mark's build threads that I've thought to myself "that is the most beautiful guitar Mark has built to date". His latest Josie Tree has me repeating that mantra again.

Count me in

It is a matter of taste and preferences, but Marks designs tick many boxes for me.
And what a good thing tastes differ. ... else we all would be after the same guitars...

Like the saying goes..

So many beautiful guitars, so little time (and money)

Thanks Doug and Tom, chasing the next most beautiful isn’t a bad way to make a living! Thank you for the support.

This isn’t a guitar, it’s a work of art! I would be afraid to play something this outstandingly, breathtakingly beautiful!

Guitars are like cats, you can spend a lot of money on a show cat with all his papers etc. It wouldn’t occur to anyone not to pet a beautiful cat. Cats like to be pettted. Guitars like to be played.

Smile Cats...

We have a neighbor cat who comes by most days for food and company. She only likes to be petted if she has managed to sneak in the house.

Unfortunately Cindy is quite allergic so we try to avoid that!

As for playing this or ANY BEAUTIFUL guitar, that is what they are for!!!

I really enjoy taking my BEST guitars to play for folks. Looking forward to more of my senior/healthcare gigs when it is safe again.

To play a spectacular guitar right next to someone who is bedridden is a real mind opening musical experience.

Beautiful instruments, Mark! And I see you are wisely French polishing from the armrest side of the box.

Thanks for sharing

Paul

Thanks Paul that’s great that you’ve been involved in doing senior gigs. It is such a great thing to do for everyone involved.

I’m looking forward to everything getting back to normal too! I’m hoping by September. I’m looking forward to Tom’s B.I.G. gathering and hope to meet you there.

I’ll also be hosting our first Granite State Luthiers meeting after a year off.

Mark

Thanks Dustin now that the french polish has had a chance to harden up a little I'll be able to move forward again. I'm excited to see this one come together!

Default April Sunrise

April sunrise at the shop:

I am an early riser and am typically in the studio before sunrise. This morning I'm greeted with what is likely this season's last winter wonderland daybreak.

Back to work!

Hi Mark

Same here in Bavaria, it is a stubborn winter this year, temps still around 0 °C and the last snow only a day ago...

Have a good day in the workshop!

Well it's managed to keep snowing all day but, that doesn't keep me from getting some work done:

I've got the neck on and am cleaning things up today:

I also set up the frets with semi-hemispherical end dressing and have them all set into the Snakewood fretboard:

Moving along well, the snow will take care of itself this time of year
