I didn't see that one when it posted or I would have contributed to it, and not this one...

But if there's another posting in 4 months, I'll let it slide...

Nice performance.

Many of us don't like playing it. BUT BUT BUT as we know audiences love it...especially women that seem to get up and dance as the first three measures are playing.

I have no issues with the song at all and would never turn down a request to play it. It is a true classic. Same goes for 'Stairway', Smoke On The Water' and 'Freebird'. Just because they get played a lot, it doesn't change anything.

As for Luca's rendition, the guy nails it once again. He's on my list of must sees once this madness is all over.

Compared to that virtuosity, I feel like a chimpanzee just crudely poking away at my guitar.

I have no problem with the song (it is a time and place in history) Am I correct in thinking it may be baritone guitar ?

For me a truly excellent and interesting cover performance, slightly degraded only by the incessant single beat thwacking on the body. Which for me grew tedious within a verse and chorus.

If I were allowed to put on my producer hat I would suggest to him, it is as much a somewhat incongruous detraction from , the excellent varied performance, as opposed to an addition to .....BUT hey that's just me

Everyone can play a bar or two of something that sounds
kind of like Sweet Home Alabama ...

I haven't tried using this as a guide, but I noticed this
Ed King youtube about how to really play it:

Not entirely sure what's its purpose is, though. Thumb stiffener/reinforcement? Striking surface?

Let's get back to the topic, guys. It's perfectly OK to voice our own personal opinions... they just have to be voiced politely. We all need to let others have their say. 'Nuff said... move on.
