That is why you should never ride a CF guitar downhill...

Ever heard of bamboo bikes? They're real.

I've never seen a bamboo bike. But I have seen photos of bamboo scaffolding going 20+ floors up the side of a building during construction in China. Yikes!

There are several makers of bamboo bikes in the US. I saw one made by a guy from Asheville. They have a better ride than carbon fiber guitars.

Makes me wonder if they talk about guitars on bamboo bike forums?

"They don't sound as good as a carbon fiber guitar," (from the Bamboo Bike Forum).

At that price there is little reason not to spend a bit more for a new Concert Hybrid.
was the A-WS really a lower cost model? the reason I ask is that I have one on the way and my research shows nothing about that model being anything less than other Rainsong models. Original price was 1875 new. So not their highest priced model but not a budget model either.

For its day, it was a budget model (they also had a run of instruments with only CF tops, the rest wood, made in South Korea, for even less). RainSong has put a lot of effort into getting their all composite designs at lower price points and I like today's RainSong entry models much better (to my ear the Concert Hybrid models are their best sounding of all).

I donated my AWS1000 to the church as a backup acoustic/electric.
Recently had a neck reset done as the action was a bit high (can't recall if it developed over time or not, but I suspect it came like that)...

I had a buddy who worked in a guitar shop and said that they had issues with a Rainsong that sat in the window of the store for a couple of months over a hot summer. So constant direct sunlight for extended periods of time could have down some damage.

The epoxy used to glue CF has made big strides in the last 20 years.

Guitar Pickers in Scottsdale has one in stock. Played it last week.

Remarkably heavy instrument.
