Very nice of you to take the time to listen and comment here! Glad you like the recording! It is a sweet guitar and for that matter, so is the OM-42! Hope you get your dream guitar one of these days!

Hi Glen, two days and you've got five pages of accolades already !
I'm gonna sound critical ... As soon as you started I thought - Whoa - too much reverb/echo .... then I thought, how did CSN sound when they recorded it, and , yes lots of 'verb ... and it is one of those reflective songs full of imagery, so, don't change it.

Of course the guitar sounds great its a d-45 and you are playing it !

Final thought - buy one of those gizmos that take yourt voice signal and add two or three extra harmonies - then you can out CSN CSN !! (ok, and Y)

'm gonna put a rude remark on your YouTube channel now!

You are just too good!

Hi Andy!

Thanks so much for checking in here and for taking to the time to listen and comment!

You are right about the reverb! My wife commented on the same thing -- "Don't you think there is too much reverb?" Yes, it was a little more than usual, but I did the same thing you did. I listened to C,S&N the my reverb levels were about the same as their's or maybe even slightly less. Then my wife reacted the same as you -- well, then leave it alone. I have also noticed that it very much depends on how you listen to the recording -- which particular headphones or speakers or in which room. In some situations it doesn't sound like there is much for reverb at all.

Regarding harmony, I did do a version where I sang the other parts and it sounded okay. But I am not going to out-sing Graham Nash on the high harmony, that's for sure! My version with harmony sounded okay, but my wife encouraged me to use the solo one. She did not want to insult my backup singers, she said, but she really liked the solo version much better. She said it had much more intensity. I had to agree with her.

I'm glad you liked the sound of the guitar! You have some incredible 12-fret Collings guitars, so you have some very high dreadnought standards against which to judge any guitar.

Regarding the song and subject matter, I have been reading a great book on World War I lately, and I am reminded in singing this song of the tremendous stories of sacrifice of the soldiers of any nation who offer themselves up on the battlefield. I have begun to understand in a very visceral way why Britain was so reluctant to get into war with Germany again in the late 1930s.

Thanks so much for listening Andy!

- Glenn

Wow Glenn, what a beautiful cover. The D-45 is clearly inspiring you to reach deep with your vocals... a match made in nirvana.

Thank YOU Bob!

How nice of you to watch and comment! And yes, I am very pleased with this new D-45, and "Daylight Again" seemed to be a magic song for it!
