Default Al Petteway

I've heard a lot of great things about Al Pettweay, but have no "real" exposure to him. I'd like to purchase a couple of his CDs, and wondered if one of you would recommend which of his CDs would be considered the quintessential Al Pettway?

Thanks.

My personal favorite is "Whispering Stones". It's got a lot of very nice pieces. I even played a few of them for a while. I also owned "The Waters and the Wild", unfortunately my puppy found the cd to be good teething material after only one playing. I also thought it was good but never got familiar enough with it to make any suggestions.

I fell in love with Al Petteway (uh, his music, that is) after reading an article about him in Accoustic Guitar. I bought his Album - "Whispering Stones" - on a whim. I have another called "Midsummer Moon". I've never heard any of his other records but I think both of those are excellent.

BTW, I also bought one of his videos on Celtic guitar playing - very good.

If you want to learn more, you might check out his website www.alandamy.com.

In my opinion, his best CD is Caledon Wood. I own all of them, and this is my favorite . . .

Jim,

Thank you for your help. I'm meeting Al January 8th...and I figured I better "bone up" before I go. Thanks again for being the middle-man.

Bill
