Cool DMB Fans?

Hey!

Any fellow Dave Matthews freaks out there?

Just spent the last hour learning "Satellite" from start to finish...ouch!! It's a big stretch for me (6 frets). I've been using the intro riff as a warm up exercise for a while, and now I finally got the whole song.

Love to hear from any other fans....

Hey Willy!!

Good to hear from ya'. Yep, I've got a few of his songs down like:

Christmas Song
Typical Situation
L. B. Veil
Jimi Thing
Warehouse (tough)
Watchtower
Lover Lay down
41

I have a funny feeling that my dear wife is planning a surprise trip to one of the upcoming shows in NY. I'd be psyched!!!

Only ever seen him once at the nightmare that was Woodstock '99 Right down in the pit for their set. Highlight of the whole ugly mess.

Wanna fill me in on any shows you've been to??

Peace

"what would you say" and "the stone" are part of my warmup and soundcheck routine...fun riffs....i can't sing either one and play at the same time though lol...

I'll play and sing "jimi thing" or "dancing nancies" or "big-eyed fish" or "bartender" or "seek up" or "song that jane likes" at band practice..my drummer is a carter nut!...

dave's riffs are fun, imho, because they are so rhythmic.....

Hey CDT,

I'm not nearly advanced enough for a band, maybe one day. His riffs are fun though. Once I get going, the rhythmic possibilities unfold, and I can get a bit creative.

I don't know if I'll ever be able to play and sing at the same time... other than the very simplest...strum....lyric....strum....lyric, kinda thing. I do a great cover of "Smelly Cat"

I have to agree with your drummer, Carter is a god of the skins

DMB is awesome.

His songs take some time to sing a play at the same time...but once you get it, it's not so bad.
