Me too.

I've stopped buying more than one set at a time because as soon as I stock up I change my mind.

Amazon Prime for me, also.

I usually order D'addario EJ-16 PB Lites that come in those hermetically sealed prepper bags that insure fresh goodness, so I'm not too concerned about old stock strings arriving dead. They probably move a lot of them, too.

I've used Strings and beyond forever it seems. I could almost drive there and pick them up myself just across the state line. They've always taken very good care of me. Sorry your experience wasn't likewise?

Free and very fast shipping for even one pack /good prices...I like that.
Musicians Friend at my door in three days
Sweetwater at my door in two days.

I’ve also bought from Strings And Beyond, Strings by Mail, Just Strings and direct from Newtone and Curt Mangan.
All do a good job.

I was buying my elixir 3 packs from shoreline music, but discount codes don't seem to work anymore. Not even "AGF" which used to get 10% I think. Anybody know of any new ones?

I have about 20 stringed instruments I play regularly. I buy a lot of strings. I have 4 custom instruments (8 and 10 strings) that use octave pairs of strings. Off the shelf sets are not available for 10 string mandola, 10 string Hardanger viola or 10 string mandocello.

My local independent music store owner saw I came in frequently to buy individual strings to make up custom sets and he said "I'll give you wholesale price on strings." So I get the majority of my strings from him. I try out a lot of other more obscure strings - Newtone archtop, .008 nickel mando sets for my '34 reso mando, Mangan monels, etc. My local dealer isn't realistically going to stock these with only one person around to buy them. For these I go to Amazon, Strings and Beyond or Just Strings.

I just completed a purchase with SBM. I also use SnB as well.

Later on this year I'm going to buy some more Newtones, but that's done directly from them. I really liked the double-wounds.

+1. I think that's the only place I've bought strings from over the past few years. Same with my capos, snarks, and picks.

I have used:

Strings and Beyond
Just Strings
Strings by Mail
Elderly

Also Musician's Friend on their Black Friday sale when they often have 10-packs on sale.

Been happy with all of them.

Last order was from Strings and Beyond due to their 2 for 1 price on EXPs.

Think of that what you like, I am pissed and ready to move on. I have spent USD335 at SnB this year alone FWIW.
I suggest you just forget this $20 'loyalty reward' and continue to buy from SnB. They often have excellent sales with international free shipping. For example, in the summer I bought Martin strings with very good discount (free shipping), yesterday I ordered a pack of 3 Elixir for the price of 2 (free shipping). What not to like?

Just roll over you butthurt and move on, man!

You can use your loyalty reward once you suddenly need particular strings and there is no international free shipping in sight. Or if you buy something from them apart from strings and picks.

As an artist endorser and enthusiastic fan of John Pearse strings and accessories, I get my strings directly from the manufacturer: Breezy Ridge Instruments/John Pearse Strings, in Pennsylvania. Like Mandobart I’m also a multi-instrumentalist, so I’m also constantly experimenting with different string gauge combinations.
