I have a 3rd BRW Josie I've just started. I'll post some pics and specs on that one too. Good things come in threes, as they say.

This Josie is different from the other two in that it will have a Western red Cedar top and a back strip. There will be some abalone on the top and rosette and it will be trimmed in black ebony:

"Sure, That sounds like a good idea."

"We can border that with thinner abalone lines."
"How about an abalone dot on the ebony end pin while we're at it?"

I have two Black Walnut sister sets that I call the 1850 wood because it was cut and has been seasoning since before the civil war! Here is one of the sets and a crossover I made from another one of the sister sets:







Finally, if you really want to go nuts. I am very excited about this recent purchase of two billets of extremely figured Claro Walnut. There is one for backs and one for sides. I should be able to get 4 maybe 5 guitars out of these:

Yesterday was a resaw day. I dug into the Claro wood billets I have pictures above and was able to get enough backs and sides to do 5 guitars. Here is one of the back sets to represent what's available. Of course, these are dry and under finish they will go nuts!





These are large enough for any of my models.

Wow, Mark beautiful woods again. I still can't get over that back on the bass! I think of Walnut as a real mellow sounding, even guitar, what kind of tops would you be thinking about pairing with these? Would these be mostly fit for fingerstyle?

Drool...walnut is my favorite tonewood next to mahogany. Wish I had some money laying around. I'd sign up for a build in a heartbeat. Nicest walnut ice seen in a while. Congrats Mark!
