Default Strings to tame mids on a jumbo

I've been given a good price on an entry-level jumbo, one with a 17-inch lower bout. I've read all of the reviews I can get about it and they seem to be all over the place (good bass, subdued bass and treble, etc.). One reviewer noted the mids seem a little harsh so I was wondering if there are guitar strings I could use that may help a bit.

Maybe something will be better than what I've been using generally which are 13-56s, and sometimes 12-54s, non-coated phosphor bronze strings. The guitar comes stock with 12-54s pbs but I would think 13-56s may be a better fit for it and I could detune it a full fret anyway.

The only string sets I've tried and not liked are the Martin Retros. I sort of like also the D'Addario NBs and I really do like the Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze strings. But maybe something else would work better?

Heavier strings are often warmer than lighter ones. And some say phosphor/bronze strings are more balanced or warmer than others.

But I'd start with my favorite strings first. Then if they sound bad, I'd try other sets to compare.
