Default Can double wound archtop strings work on a flat top?

Hi I'm interested in the Newtone Archtop double wound strings, but on my Blackbird lucky 13.

I like more mellow sounds and currently use either the Newtone Masterclass Nickels of Thomastik Infeld Spectrums (silk).

Is there any reason why these strings wouldn't work on a flat top? Maybe something to do with the different bridge setting?

How would they sound compared to what I normally use?

Thanks for the help

Although I'm not familiar with the strings you mention, I can safely say there is absolutely no reason why they won't work on the flattop. Us archtop guys basically use whatever kind of string we think sounds best, but there is no such thing as an archtop specific string.
