Any square neck dobro players out there?
I am new to this forum so I am just going to jump in. I just got a square neck resonator and am learning to play. I have played guitar for 35 years and thought it would be fun. what I am looking for is a small chord chart that diagrams chord positions for a slide in low G (GBDGBD). I have found the Mel Bay chart by Janet Davis but it is a wall poster 36x24. Kind of big. I have been all over Google and can't seem to find anything else. The barred chords are easy Duh! It finding the 7th's, minors, slants etc.
thanks! |

You need to check out http://www.resohangout.com
They have a lot of tabs, lessons and links. Good luck and I hope that you enjoy the reso as much as I have.

Thanks for the link. I will have to explore the tabs more deeply but it looks like a good source. Still looking for that chord chart though.

Stacy Phillips probably has the most comprehensive books for resonator guitar. Check out his "Chords and Scale Patterns for Resonator Guitar" book at http://www.stacyphillips.com/dobrobooks.html
Another great resource is http://www.resoguit.com/ where you can download Pete Reichwein's Scale "Analyzer Application" - a lot more information than just scales. One more must-have link is "Brad's Page of Steel" at http://www.well.com/user/wellvis/steel.html Now we'd better get back to discussing acoustic guitars before we get in trouble here.
