Incoming Poe Scout Mandolin
For those of you who followed my ukulele thread (here) you'll recognize the Poe name. Andy Poe is known for his mandolins.
Yesterday I ordered a Poe Scout (# 025). After hearing the sound clips Andy sent I knew I had to have it. The flattop oval hole will work well with the type of music we play (original folk, Celtic, psycho-bluegrass). With any luck it should arrive tomorrow. Here are some pics: Here are the specs on the Poe Scout: Gibson Army/Navy Body Shape (slightly arched top and back) Oval Soundhole Bone Nut (1 5/32 width) Ebony Fingerboard w/ 12" Radius .040 Fret Wire Standard 13 7/8" Scale Length French Polish Varnished Finish Nickel Clamshell Tailpiece Nickel Tuners (rebuilt by Andy) Adirondack Spruce Top Sugar Maple Back & Rims, Neck Fully Ivoroid Bound Custom Ameritage Poe Case Other pics of my new Scout can be found here. I'll post a report after it gets here and I get a chance to play it for awhile.

Congratulations! I didn't know Andy Poe made flat top mandolins; his carved top ones certainly have a fine reputation.
I will look forward to reading your report once you've had the chance to get acquainted with it. Fliss |

He is introducing a Scout Jr. which will have less gingerbread and sell for about $500.00 less. That will be a bargain in my estimation. Thanks Fliss........sometimes I think we're on the same page.
