Default Recalling Simon Fay Road Trip guitar

A few years back Simon Fay sent around one of his fine guitars to several forum members. There were a few other road trip guitars by other luthiers around that time.

I recall Simon's guitar playing with clear articulation and with a powerful treble.

Here is a link to road trip thead:

One of the tunes I recorded on the guitar:
"Coffee With Sugar"

Wonderful tune Derek, maybe my favorite of what you have posted in my time here. The melody is captivating and the bass run really grabs the listener!

Thanks Bob. The notes on this guitar really pop.

Wonderful tune, Derek, and your playing is flawless, precise, and expressive. I especially enjoyed the tempo of that piece - letting notes hang in the air for a bit -- it is a beautiful arrangement.

I got some very helpful feedback with that roadtrip guitar. I may be interested in doing something like that again - the only deterrent is that shipping has gotten so expensive.

Thanks Simon for your comments and for sending out that guitar on a road trip. That series of road trip guitars that occurred a few years back was great fun.

Great to hear that. Thanks for posting. Thanks for the link to the road trip thread. Brings back good memories. Still recall the guitar just as described in the thread, played in this example, and shown in the picks by Ryanfender (who I haven't seen in ages but ran into a couple of weeks ago in the grocery store. Would sure love to see road trip guitars again. I would not hesitate to pay the increased shipping and insurance costs to participate.

Jeff
