O.K. so much for the Martin I had a feeling that it was going to be a no go, but what is the consensus on the other item?

Why spend all that money when you can get a very good Cordoba or Alhambra for under 1000 on eBay? Or a new one for somewhat more? And Martin classicals ate not that highly thought of anyway.

Of the two no question the YAMAHA GC10C is the one to get.

Victor knows a lot, and I've happily dealt with him numerous times. The Yamaha gets my vote, too.

O.K. I passed on the Yamaha...…...I found a very, very good deal on a new Cordoba c12. I expect to be happy for a loooong time.
