Typical "Thumb Piano". An idiophone in general parlance. They come in many sizes and shapes. This is a big one. The Mbira is in this family.

"The mbira is an African musical instrument consisting of a wooden board with attached staggered metal tines, played by holding the instrument in the hands and plucking the tines with the thumbs. The mbira is usually classified as part of the lamellaphone family and part of the idiophone family of musical instruments."

Looks like a variation on the the African kalimba/thumb piano, with bi-level tines and some sort of resonator apparatus - I love the sound, and the lady's quite adept at it...

That's what it sounds like to me too. Also called a Kalimba. Can't say for 100% as I can't see her hands, but that's what it sounds like.

Yes it sounded like a Kalimba but the inner circuolar shape confused me. I had only known traditional open box style kalimbas.
