Excellent conversation and playing by Ed in this interview from last year. A down-to-earth, well-spoken guy who happened to have created one of the most immediately recognizable licks ever. Tone is definitely in the fingers here. I got a kick out of what a guitarist wrote once, in a thread about perfect pitch: "I don't have perfect pitch, but I can think of the intro to 'Sweet Home Alabama' and get a D." |

Thanks guys/girls.
Is it true that the 57 Deluxe is insanely loud even at low settings?? Which amp do you think sounds better for blues lead playing? |

i have a 66 deluxe reverb with 22 watts that i don't turn up past 4 and that is loud in my room. i have a 59 princeton, different animal than a princeton reverb, with about 5 watts and i turn it up to 7 or 8 in that room. i usually have a pedal in front also. both would be excellent for blues. play music!

Have you given thought to the Blues Junior? I have seen guys gig this amp at blues jams and it cranks. I gigged a Fender Twin Reverb and it was brutal. I wish I had had one of these 20 years ago.
