Default It actually was my string

I've hunted down string buzzes numerous times in my life - frets, nuts, saddles, hardware, etc. That said, last night was the first time where the buzz was truely in the string. I've heard of this before, but never quite understood it. I just figured that if the string was that fatigued, it would just snap or such. Well, my "g" string had a bum wrap that was on the string post and when I loosened the string to change them out (thinking it may just be the string after all), it finally did break. Voilla, the new string changed out the problem and I'm back in business.

If you live long enough. . . .

I'm glad it was an easy fix.

A luthier friend of mine has a sign above his workbench that says, "It's the string, stupid." He's told me about hours of his life that he's wasted chasing buzzes, vibrations, wolf notes, and poor intonation, only to find that the 50 cent string was the culprit.
