The Beekeeper (2024)

Jason Statham is just quietly going about his business, not causing anybody any problems, and then somebody has to go and do very bad things, and whaddyagonnado? Ya know?

Lots of violence, and characters change their motivation as the plot requires, and you may find yourself afterwards thinking "Gee I'm not sure that was entirely realistic" but while it's on it's entertaining if you like that kind of thing from time to time. And JS has a likeable quality that a whole bunch of people I could name who appear in similar roles very much lack.

Watch out for Megan Le in a brief but impactful role as Statham's successor as The #1 Beekeeper.

Recommended, mostly.

Just finished The Devil's Hour on Amazon. It gets a lot of good/great reviews, especially for the writing and cast. Kind of a blend of previously explored horror/sci-fi themes with a couple of twists. I found it sometimes slow and sometimes riveting. Set in England. I'd give it 4.5 out of 5.

I'm watching "The Three Body Problem" on Netflix. So far, pretty interesting.

Just finished "Fallout" on Prime...weird as heck, very violent at times, but very good--and Walter Goggins is excellent!

Scruffy fare to be sure, we enjoyed the full runs of Loudermilk and Shameless. Given that we found those entertaining, what might be a fun series to try next on Netflix?
