Looking very cool! I'd like to go on record with all the Bara-nuts right now by saying mike and I discussed an Art Deco theme on my upcoming meridian way before I had even seen the retreaux parlor from healdsburg. Here was the first idea we had:

Juston, really nice color on the end wedge - matches from what I can see the grain lines in the mahogany. Such great color sense Mike has!

(or was that you?)

Thanks yet again for posting...

I really like the headstock design on this. Mike is truly an artist and this is no exception. Looking forward to seeing this one come together.

Juston,
What are the measurements on this model. Lower bout, scale etc.

Love the way Mike doesn't whittle down where the X braces intersect (and capped as well). It looks quite strong at a very important intersection. Ervin Somogyi does the same thing.

The scale length is 25.6" and the lower bout is approximately 00 size, if I'm not mistaken. 14 1/4"

Oh, and it's a 13 fret design.

More update photos. Mike is using some unusual ivoroid binding that I really like. The mahogany back looks really striking. I can't wait to see it under finish.

Default Gorgeous guitar

I love the looks of this guitar. It seems to magically combine the really old with the new. From 1880s to 1930s modernism and at the same time bring everything up to 2014. Very cool effect.

And speaking of this type guitar, I was a McCabe's Guitar in Santa Monica CA a year ago, and the best sounding guitar, among all the expensive instruments that weren't locked behind glass, was a Santa Cruz parlor. So, these little guys can sure sound good.

In any case, a great beauty!
