Mic test - how does this sound?
I think I had my mics too close to the guitar. I'm still getting a bit of "old guy moving around too much" artifacts. Should I move back some more from the mics or would I start to get too much room?
No eq at all. Thanks in advance.

Doesn't sound too close to me. I hear you rustling around, but also a lot of constant noise - air-conditioner running, perhaps? I don't notice any boominess or anything else that would indicate you're too close.

I agree with Doug. Outside of the "white noise", I think it sounds real nice Barry. Sparkling highs, no boom, nice playing too.

Ok thanks! I knew the a/c was on and with the temp above 90 I wasn't about to tell my wife I was going to shut it off because it was too noisy,
I'm going to try moving back a bit more and I will also be recording in my basement soon so we'll see how that goes.

Can you share where your mics are positioned?
With headphones on, what I heard was the bass notes overwhelming your treble melody. So maybe too close or perhaps angle the mic to the treble side of the body?

I hear a lowish frequency continuous noise that is all that bothers me. Otherwise i think the recording is quite nice.

The a/c was on in the kitchen. I could have used noise removal but I was more concerned with my body movements and proximity for this test and I didn't want to use any eq. Thanks for listening. I'm moving my recording gear downstairs right now, just taking a break.

I think it sounds good Barry, but you never know how things could be improved with more experimentation. I have recently moved my mics back from me a little bit to avoid picking up too much extraneous clothes noise. My mics are back about 8-10", I think, though I have never gotten out a tape measure.
I like the sound of close mics; I think that's where the guitar sounds best. But a listener will hear more clothes rustle and breathing that way, too. I do think it's good that you are going to move your recording space down to a different part of the house, more removed from the usual noises. It's better for you and it's better for everyone else in the house who will be set free to be a little more normal in terms of making household noises. - Glenn

I agree with others that there is already more room sound than you want. When I’m getting ready to record on a hot day, I first crank up the AC so it’s a little cold in the room, and then I turn it off, get the track(s), and go back to AC.
Your guitar does not sound boomy to me.
