I put a second label into the ES-0 to reflect its actual serial number. The linen/paper was too fragile to accept all of the repositioning I might have desired, but at least I'm certain it is well stuck.
This is the first myrtle guitar I have NOT stained with P juice, and I am finding it quite beautiful under varnish. I supplied Eric with 50 or so BRW head plates about 20 years ago, and he had his name inlayed into them and then returned them to me. Most were straight grained, which is why this is the last one!

I’ve had a very nice week, so far. Two of my fans have visited my shop this week, Bruce Robinson today, who is a multiple supporter of my work, and yesterday the fellow for whom am most likely making my next build. “Most likely” because all of the details are not worked out and he is not in a hurry. I am reticent to name him as he is not active here afaik. I really like meeting my customers before I build as it enriches the experience for both of us.
Also, two of the guitars I have had for longer than expected found their homes this last week. One was at Guitar Gallery for much longer than makes sense to me. It is a very nice highly figured Sapele 000 cutaway for well under 10K, and never owned. Seems like a killer deal to me. The other is one of the Zygotic Twins, a mahogany single 0 cutaway I made to show at the first B.I.G. It is a wonderful player, and while not as flat out impressive as it’s Permabuco sibling, I will miss having it around. The Myrtle 0 has its 5th coat of varnish this afternoon, and it is looking like it may be complete after one more. Most of my work requires 8 coats, but Myrtle is very finely grained and has close to no pores, so I am counting the blessings. I chose not to pore fill the mahogany neck to keep the appearance synchronous, so it is probably going to need the full schedule. Thanks for reading.

Bruce I imagine that is a very rewarding experience on both sides to have customers come visit. Sounds like it’s been a great week! Can’t wait to see that Myrtle under finish, as it looks spectacular in the buff! Glad you’re having a good week!

Yes, it will be, though there was a statement I saw (possibly somewhere on Facebook) that it will be the last under his direction, hinting that the mantle may be taken up by someone else. Time will tell, I guess.

Yesterday I decided the Myrtle 0’s finish was cured and blocked it out with 2000 grit and buffed it. Looks great!!! Today or tomorrow I will assemble the neck to the body, and should have it playing mid-week.
My shop’s humidity has been unusually high for several weeks, and we’ve had the hottest October I have ever noticed. The better news is that the last few days have seen low 40’s percentages, and it looks like I can get beck to the bench soon.

Looks like I better post or I'll fall off the bottom of the bottom of the first page!
Fortunately, there is some news. A couple of weeks ago I completed the Tenor guitar I made for John Sanderbeck. From my POV it is a very interesting guitar-like variation as it is tuned in 5ths, and unlike the fiddle (my current musical obsession), is easy to envision chord structure, which is a boon to understanding all the notes on the neck. Looks like I'll have to make myself one. HERE is the current attempt.  But wait, there's more: A couple of days ago I strung the single 0 I made for Eric Schoenberg, possibly my 70th guitar for him! What a customer. I imagine this is the first Schoenberg made from Myrtle, and though he hasn't seen it yet, he is going to be very happy about the result, or so I expect. HERE is the page I made for it today.
