Default 1974 Khono 10 Classical

Master Khono studied in Spain with the Ramirez family. I am the original owner. It's not pristine by any means - springs from a girlfriend's couch, Bic lighter falling from shirt pocket, belt buckles. So there are some marks. And the G tuner is slightly bent. But there are no cracks, no structural issues at all. Ebony fretboard, and twin ebony strips in the mahogany neck.

This is a 1974 build, cedar over rosewood. It's a very nice sounding guitar. It's all I played for years, but about 8 years ago started on steel strings and now this old faithful sits in its case.

When I first got the guitar, I had naked Barcus Berry hot dots embedded in the bridge. They were all the rage back then, but no longer. They remain embedded but wires cut, and an LR Baggs Anthem SL is installed. It sounds great plugged in and acoustically.

So this is not a collector's guitar, but it sounds as good as one. I had a choice between a Remirez and this guitar when I purchased, and liked both, liked this one better.

The case is newer, not a great case, but more convenient than the half-inch plywood coffin I purchased with the guitar. I still have that case; it's heavy duty and the guitar fits in snugly. Good for travel. It's for sale, too! But would cost a bit to ship!

I will include the installed LR Baggs Anthem SL and a Shub classical capo, and I have a set or two of classical strings that will accompany the guitar.

$2700 plus shipping and any payment fees.

Nice guitar! May I ask a few questions?

Scale length?
Nut width?
How difficult would it be to remove the pickup system (except for the endpin/jack, of course)?

Thank you.

This guitar has typical classical guitar dimensions. That would put nut width at 2", and scale length between 25.6 and 26 inches. I am currently traveling, but can be more precise after returning home.

It would be quite easy to remove the pickup. I could have that done prior to transfer.

Thanks for your questions!

I hadn’t seen one of these in years. Stellar guitars. Someone will get a deal.
