Default My Monteleone 00 12 fret build is Finished!!

I don't bother with photobucket anymore, and have not figured out how to downsize pictures to post here, so here's a link to UMGF where I'm able to post pics with impugnity with no assistance:-)

If one of the marvelous mods would like to extract my pictures to place them up here? THAT'D be a thing a beauty, and very typical of their nature! I'm just getting over Pneumonia, so this has been uplifting, but hey: It's just a guitar. There are far more important things going on........

https://umgf.com/my-monteleone-00-12fret-t205016.html

Best regards for all of your health!

Howard

It's wonderful to get a glimpse of the workshop that inspired Mark Knopfler's song. The guitar looks great too!

I imagine you've already seen this, but it's well worth watching (in full) for those who haven't.

The Monteleone section starts around 32 mins 54:

Nice thread and a great guitar to look forward to. Hope we get to see more photos!

When P’bucket said they wanted money instead of being free I changed to imgur, which is free and IMHO easier to use. For image resizing I use irfanview, another freebie with a great “resize” function under the “image” tab.

I think one of the most important points to bring out is the color that inspired this build. In John's shop hangs a picture of a Elizabeth Taylor, dressed to the nines, in red, holding a mandola that was made for her son. Perhaps John will eventually release that picture, but until he does my description and this mandolin picture, will just have to suffice.

Ah.......red & black........my favorite color scheme:-)

Nice! I take it your Maple will carry a little red and black. Maybe one day I'll be able to attend another of your house concerts and see this beauty!

I believe it will carry a whole lot of the red!

I'd love to do another house concert! Let's get past this little trifle we're dealing with first.

Best,
Howard

Hi Howard—First, glad to hear you bounced back from the pneumonia, not always an easy or straightforward thing to do. Following that, big congrats on the great OO build underway with John. I have to say the red on that mandolin is one of the most beautiful colors I’ve ever seen on any instrument, even most especially on the maple back. It’s gonna be a killer instrument! —Richard
