Yeah, my initial post might have been a bit vague. Scotland has a lot of issues to contend with regarding outdoor gigs. The rain and clouds of vicious biting wee insects to name just the top two. Fixing up a small stage PA is easy to do and we all know how to manage that, but it was the streaming to people's cars or motorhomes that seemed a bigger challenge. Probably for the reasons above, Scotland has no (or at least very little) history of drive-ins, so we're starting from ground zero with this idea.

I think a low power FM broadcast is the easiest option, so long as nobody catches you at it. I think it's pretty much illegal to just throw stuff out onto the FM radio frequencies without a license.

A legal-but-technically-complex option would be to set up a WiFi network that provides access to a streaming media server. Feed that from the mixer, maybe add in a video feed, and then all the punters need to do is open a web page on the server to take in the show.

I've never done such a thing, but maybe starting with something like this would give you inspiration: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/iis...ooth-streaming

Check out the FCC's Part 15 rules for low power transmitters. About 200 feet is what you can expect for range with a low power transmitter that doesn't require FCC licensing.

Looks like I'll be looking into FM transmitter use in the UK to see if that is viable. From what I can see, there doesn't seem to be a neat, easy way of setting something like this up. I guess that might well change in the coming months.
