Default New Boss Wireless Transmitters.

This is a personal dream come true. I may go fully wireless if this product is as good as they say it is!

Default New Boss Wireless Transmitters.

Line6 makes a competing plug in style product that gets mixed reviews. I use Line6’s G30 & G50 wireless systems with electric and acoustic guitars (K&K Ultra Mini, ES1, ES2, assorted Fishman and LR Baggs pickup systems) and it works flawlessly with all of them. Yes, there is a transmitter pack that attaches to my guitar strap but they are dependable.

That being said, BOSS has a great reputation for delivering high quality products.

Does the receiver run on battery as well? I can't tell from the ad. I'm hoping for an updated version of the Xvive U2 system. I love having two small units that both run on battery.

Anyone have any thoughts as to whether this would work with a dynamic microphone? If I used an XLR to female TRS, I wonder if it would transmit the signal with minimal tone loss.

Whoa, that Boss unit looks slick!

Line 6 gave me a G50 wireless to field test when they were just coming out. I beat the tar out of that thing, probably used it on 500 gigs. Other than the battery cover getting a little wonky (easily remedied by a rubber band) I still have it and it still works like the day I got it. More importantly though, I couldn't hear any difference between the wireless rig and my plugged in tone. All that said, it's way bulkier than the Boss. I'll be keeping an eye on this one.

Right from the sales speak of Sweetwater, "The WL-20 emulates the sound of a 10-foot cable with jaw-dropping accuracy." And there is a version with no cable emulation and yet another version where it is selectable.

I guess now that I'm a crotchety old man, this strikes me as cork sniffing to the Nth degree :~). I mean I have had a bad cable that was not fully dead...once.

These look slick. I'll wait for some real-world reviews but I could see me jumping on a set of these to see how they compare with the Xvive U2 units. I've had relatively good luck with them but outside I tend to get dropouts a bit more if I wander more than 10 feet or so. Only with battery operated amps though, oddly.

I wonder how they work in terms of channels? I am hoping that it’s possible to use a couple of these together on stage without any drop out issues.

I like the unit that powers off standard 9v, and has a battery option. Hopefully this release will kick Line6 into fixing the power supply issues with their units.

Their promotional material says they have multiple channels, I forget the maximum number, but yes they say they've checked off that box. From the same materials they indicate it sets itself automatically to an available channel when you plug the receiver and transmitter together.
