Default Very cool new builder!

For years, I had been using a luthier for more complex jobs - refrets, neck resets, finish repairs, etc. He has always done beautiful work. He was the main Luthier at Maple Street Guitars, the shop in town that carries all the high end stuff (Collings, Martin, Santa Cruz, Lowden, etc). I noticed he hadn't been there lately, and today I learned why. He has launched his own company making custom guitars!

I was in maple Street today, drooling over stuff I can't afford (as usual), and saw they are now carrying his guitars. I played his OM style guitar, and it was very nice. The finish was beautiful, woods were top notch, fret work immaculate. It sounded warm, full, articulate and balanced.

I thought I'd share his work with you guys. Please take a look at his website if you are interested.

and this is the one I played:

I have no affiliation, other than I've done business with him in the past, which was always a pleasure. On a personal note, I've always found him to be pleasant, knowledgeable, down to earth and meticulous in his work.

Default Henry

I see he'd studied with my friend Nick Appollonio. As of 8 years ago, Nick had built over 1000 instruments, of all kinds. I didn't know he took others under his wings.

Looks great. I especially like that 12 string. How many guitars does he have under his belt?

I have no idea. His website says he's been building since he was very young. From my experience, he's a pretty straight shooter. If your interested, shoot him an email. I'm fairly confident he will tell you straight up.

Glad to see some people interested in this person. I posted about August Guitars and didn't generate one response. Who has stepped into unknown waters with a builder you've stumbled upon?
