Small world full of guitar-loving Jeff B's

Congrats Joel and Jeff, I'll be watching and rooting you both along from the sidelines as i wait for my Two-Hands Guitar in the coming weeks!
Hey Jeff...
We begin the final stretch on your guitar next week...lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of sanding, as we bring her up to 2000 grit, then polish up to a mirror-like gloss. I’m getting excited!!!

Hey Mike...

Thanks for jumping in. Please tell Sam that I’m very proud of her accomplishments...and good luck on the next phase of her journey. We’ll be ready to celebrate the next milestone accomplishment with her own custom Two Hands build.

Happy Saturday everyone. Let’s look at some more progress pictures of Jeff B-2’s guitar...

IMG_2776.jpg
Here’s the completed rimset...notice the support for an arm bevel...

IMG_2783.jpg
With the completed soundport and braced back. I build with a 20’ back radius...

IMG_2779.jpg
Sitting on the back...the braces haven’t yet been mortised into the linings and sides...

IMG_2781.jpg
Close up of the inside detail. I pride myself in clean finished work, even where it won’t ever be seen...

IMG_2782.jpg
Closer look...

IMG_2792.jpg
Standing in front of my custom, hand drawn plans...

IMG_2793.jpg
And a closer look...

Thanks again for looking...

It looks incredible Joel.
Love the sapwood in the sides to match the sapwood in the back.
Thanks for sharing these images

Thanks Colin...
If you’re eye finds the complimenting sapwoods pleasing, then please keep following to find out where else it may appear.

Thank you, David. I’m quite fond of Cocobolo, and have been blessed to find quite a few wonderful specimens for my collection.

Thanks Dustin. I spent a couple of days drawing, and redrawing the profile. I’d walk away, and come back later to find that it wasn’t quite right...until it was finally right. Im quite fond of it too.

I hope that everyone has fun plans tomorrow...as we celebrate our freedom and independence. Here’s a few more pictures to get us rolling...and as always, thank you for spending a little bit of your free time here...

IMG_2788.jpg
The inside ring of the rosette will have an Ebony background field...

IMG_2790.jpg
Cutting the ring with a Dremel and circle cutting attachment...

IMG_2829.jpg
The rosette channel is excavated...

IMG_2850.jpg
And the surgical implant is complete...

IMG_2851.jpg
A closer look at what’s going on...Pyinma burl segments inside of an inner ring of Ebony, and two copper encircled Abalone dots. Inner and outer rings of flamed Pyinma with black and rust veneer lines...and a sound-hole bound in flamed Pyinma...

Hey, Dustin, I just wanted to mention, I'm an enthusiastic new fan of you and your music. A couple weeks ago, Joel introduced me to you via your YouTube videos, and man, what a breath of fresh air. We always have music playing in the shop while we're making guitars, and to be honest, the same-ole, same-ole play list was getting pretty moribund. So we started listening your your music, and kept coming back to the iPad to watch you play. Like, "Who IS this guy!" It was actually hard to get any work done. Joel and I are both huge Modern Fingerstyle fans, and you are world class!

And then, KISMET. You and Joel have quickly become friends.

For those of you who haven't heard Dustin's music yet, he's got a YouTube channel with lots of great videos. This guy is sensational. Everyone on this Forum needs to know about Dustin. HERE is a link to Dustin's channel. Subscribe and LIKE!

Dustin, I hear you and Joel may try a collaboration... No hype, I have to say (IMO), your music and Joel's guitars would be an ideal match. Both are stratospherically excellent and inspired. I hope it happens, because I really believe it would be a win/win/win situation for everyone involved.

Cheers,
Steve
