Hmmmmm... got me thinking... How difficult would it be to pull an undersaddle pickup and replace it with something like the K&K Pure Mini in a guitar with a built-in preamp (say, like my Seagull S6 )...? Would it just be a matter of clipping the UST lead and then connecting the Mini to the leads going to the preamp?

You should be able to notice a significant difference after taking it out. That’s due to the saddle height being lower once the UST is taken out.
There was no residue when I took mine out; it was actually the opposite as it kep falling out, so I used some more double sided tape
