Thanks everyone for the replys. They help greatly. I'm looking into them now. I would like to see what a handmade guitar would cost, but then again, if we do something like Taylorstock again, I probably would go with what I want with Taylor. We'll see when that time comes. Well thanks for all your replys and emails!

Thanks!!
Aaron

Of all the luthiers' guitars I saw at the Healdsburg Guitar Festival, Kent Hamblin and Marc Beneteau had the most to offer for the price. Kent's guitars were equal to the much higher priced ones, but he is still reasonable because he is not that well-know yet. I don't think that will be the case for long. One of the forum members here purchased one of Kent's guitars, a Brazilian GC, sight unseen on my recommendation, and loves it. If I hadn't been so tied up in Taylors on order, I would have bought that one, plus a sweet light mahogany/englemann from Beneteau, at less than half the price of most of the luthiers there.

If anyone here is thinking about buying a handmade guitar in the future, I would strongly recommend planning on attending the next Healdsburg Guitar Festival in August, 2005. The guitars that you will see, the players that you will hear play, and the concerts given at night, are just too good to be true. Well worth the trip.

I am planning on posting some pics of this festival when I get the chance. I just haven't had the time yet, but I will soon.

(P.S. Mark Blanchard's guitars were to die for, but his prices are not low.)

You will spend more time stringing this beast than playing it
