Collings City Limits Deluxe
I recently acquired a CL Deluxe from Willcutt’s in a trade for my PRS Hollowbody Spruce. I was apprehensive until I played the CL unplugged. It resonated unlike any guitar I’ve ever played. Suffice to say when I ran it through an amp it completely sold me on Collings electrics. It is easier to play than any guitar I own and it elevates my playing to the point it’s hard to play another guitar.
This one was the 68th CL made in 2006, their first year of production. Collings customer service sent me all the specs and were incredibly helpful. I’ve long known their acoustics were a step above mass produced guitars, and their electrics are among the best being produced today. If you’re on the fence regarding Collings’ electric offerings, or have a success story to share, please chime in. They’re a reward you’ll be glad to receive.

I also love my City Limits Dlx, but I wouldn't give up my PRS Hollow Spruce for it. I need them both. I put Fralin P92s in the PRS, and now it sounds like a fat 335, as I'd hoped for. The CLD has Throbaks in it, and it is a clear, powerful, growling rocker. Lots of fun!
