Just received the latest photos from Greg on the beautiful Cocobolo/Sinker Redwood Build. It is absolutely stunning Greg, Great Work!!

Shhhhwwwweeeeeeeeet!! I love the wood choices. Very nice looking piece of Redwood. That's going to be one classy looking guitar. Congratulations! Tom

That is just beautiful.......great wood choices. That top looks pretty thick??? I know Lowden and others have pretty thick tops when using Redwood and Cedar......looks cool....great project!!!

Thanks for all the nice comments! I'm hoping we see it some time in the Oct/November timeframe but no pressure Greg!

The photos of the back and sides are exquisite. The top and the coco rosette are amazing. This looks like an amazing guitar. Thanks for sharing your photos.

Of course! It is a Gwaltney. We've come to expect great things from Greg!
Not only is he a great builder, he is a great guy also.

First of all, thanks! Relative to the top thickness, it is thicker than a spruce top, but not as thick as you might think by looking at the soundhole.....I used a redwood support ring under the rosette which runs all the way to the soundhole edge(by the way, the inner edge of the soundhole will be sanded to remove the dark spots).....in other words you are seeing two layers of redwood glued together at the soundhole, so the "top" piece is thinner than the full thickness you are seeing.

Thanks Steve, Greg has been fantastic to work with and his cocobolo/redwood guitars are amazing to play, so much resonance, projection and clarity.

By the way, Steve too is a true gentleman, and is building fantastic guitars, I've played a few of them over the past few years and they sound great!

Thanks BK~ I lived in Encinitas and Del Mar when going to UCSD back in 1974 (now I'm dating myself) It was a great time back then!

Wow! That's incredible. I love the pattern of the Cocobolo set used. Can't wait to see this guitar finished.
